What Is Rise Luxus Ultrablend 4-in-1 Foundation?
Rise Luxus Ultrablend is a colour-changing foundation that claims to combine four products in one: foundation, concealer, moisturiser and primer. Instead of choosing from different shades, the idea is that its special pigments adjust to your skin tone as you blend it in. The brand also promises buildable coverage, a natural radiant finish and makeup that stays fresh throughout the day. It’s even advertised as waterproof and suitable for mature skin, with claims that it won’t settle into fine lines or fade after several hours. I can see why that sounds appealing, especially if you’ve struggled to find a foundation that matches your complexion without making wrinkles and other imperfections more noticeable. But does it actually deliver all these benefits? Here’s what happened when I tried it.
My First Day Using Rise Luxus Foundation
I started with four pumps, thinking that would be enough to cover my face without applying too much. The first thing I noticed was how thick the foundation felt. It was also quite sticky, almost like applying sunscreen rather than regular foundation. The scent was light and pleasant, so I didn’t have any complaints there. What I did like was the colour-changing effect. As I blended it into my skin, the colour adjusted surprisingly well to my complexion, and I was genuinely impressed with the match. Unfortunately, the coverage wasn’t nearly as good. It was very light and sheer, leaving my blemishes, broken capillaries, dark circles and deeper pores visible. I added some blush, eyeshadow and loose setting powder before finishing with setting spray. After about two hours, the foundation around the nosepiece of my glasses had already disappeared. By the fourth hour, it was settling into my deeper wrinkles, and after seven hours, there was hardly anything left on my face. The sticky feeling also never went away. This wasn’t what I expected from a foundation advertised as waterproof and long-lasting.
Day Two: More Foundation, No Setting Powder or Spray
I decided to give it another chance, this time using five pumps instead of four. I also skipped the setting powder and setting spray because I wanted to see whether they were contributing to the problem. My work routine was pretty much the same as the previous day, but the extra foundation didn’t improve the coverage. If anything, the greasy feeling became even more frustrating. After about two hours, my glasses were literally sliding down my face. My skin felt so oily that I eventually had to wipe off the remaining foundation with a tissue and finish my shift without it. All I had left on my face was mascara, lipstick and that unpleasant sticky feeling. At this point, I was beginning to question how a foundation advertised as waterproof and long-lasting could feel so greasy and disappear so quickly.
Day Three: Trying Primer and Setting Spray
For my third attempt, I changed things again. I applied a base primer before the foundation and used setting spray afterwards, hoping this combination would help it stay in place. I started with three pumps and added a fourth around the areas where I wanted more coverage, particularly my broken capillaries, pores and dark circles. The coverage was still mediocre. I also noticed that the foundation didn’t adjust to my skin tone as well as it had on the previous two days. Instead of blending into my complexion, it remained more of an ivory shade. The primer and setting spray helped it last longer than it had on day two, but the sticky and greasy feeling was still there. By this point, I had tried different amounts and application methods over three days, and I still hadn’t found a way to make this foundation work comfortably.
Does Rise Luxus Foundation Really Last All Day?
Unfortunately, it didn’t last anywhere near as long as I expected. Rise Luxus advertises 12-plus-hour wear, claiming the foundation won’t fade, oxidise or require touch-ups throughout the day. My experience was quite different. On the first day, it had practically disappeared after seven hours, and I noticed transfer around my glasses much earlier. On the second day, I couldn’t even keep it on for two hours because my face had become so greasy that my glasses wouldn’t stay in place. Using primer and setting spray on the third day helped a little, but the foundation still felt uncomfortable. I wasn’t doing anything particularly strenuous or putting it through extreme conditions. I was simply wearing it during my normal work routine. I don’t think a foundation advertised as long-lasting should require so much extra effort just to look reasonably presentable.
Does Rise Luxus Hide Wrinkles, Pores and Dark Circles?
One of the reasons I was interested in this foundation was its promise to smooth fine lines, blur pores and cover imperfections. Since it’s also marketed as a concealer, I expected more than the light coverage I got. Even after applying extra product, my dark circles, broken capillaries and pores were still visible. The deeper wrinkles around my face became even more noticeable as the foundation settled into them throughout the day. I also didn’t get the moisturised, comfortable finish I expected from a product that claims to double as a moisturiser. Instead, my skin felt sticky and greasy. The colour match was impressive, but that alone wasn’t enough to give me the smooth, even-looking complexion I wanted.
Did Rise Luxus Make Me Look Younger?
The advertising around colour-changing foundations often makes them sound like a little beauty miracle. You’re led to expect smoother-looking skin, fewer visible imperfections and a fresher, younger appearance without needing several different makeup products. I certainly didn’t get that transformation with Rise Luxus. Instead of compliments about how good my skin looked, I got questions about why I had stopped wearing foundation, why I looked tired, whether my face was sweating so much and whether I was feeling okay. That was quite the opposite of what I expected. I don’t need a foundation to make me look like a completely different person, but I do want one that improves my appearance while I’m wearing it. Unfortunately, Rise Luxus didn’t do that for me.
Rise Luxus Foundation Ingredients and SPF 50 Claims
Rise Luxus talks about smart pigments and micro-encapsulated colour technology that supposedly reacts to skin warmth, pH and undertones to produce a matching shade. That’s interesting, and I could see the colour-adjusting effect when I applied it. However, the product information I could access didn’t provide a complete ingredient list with enough detail for me to properly assess the formula. I also couldn’t establish exactly which ingredients were responsible for its moisturising, smoothing and long-lasting claims. Another thing worth mentioning is the SPF 50 advertising. I couldn’t verify an SPF 50 test report or identify the sunscreen active ingredients from the product information available to me. If you’re considering buying this foundation because you want something that also protects your skin from the sun, I wouldn’t rely on that claim without proper evidence. Keep using a separate broad-spectrum sunscreen rather than replacing it with this foundation.
Rise Luxus Refund Policy and Customer Support
Rise Luxus advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee and provides customer support through support@riseluxus.com. That’s useful to know, particularly when buying makeup online, where you don’t get the opportunity to test the product before paying. However, I’d recommend reading the full refund policy before ordering. Check whether there are any conditions for returning opened or used cosmetics, because there’s really no way to know whether a foundation suits your skin without trying it first. I also noticed recurring-purchase language on the product page, indicating that future charges may apply depending on the purchase arrangement. This doesn’t mean every order is automatically a subscription, but make sure you’re selecting a one-time purchase if that’s what you want. It’s always worth checking the final order details before entering your payment information.
Is Rise Luxus the Same as Other Colour-Changing Foundations?
After trying so many colour-changing foundations, I’ve started wondering how different some of these products really are. The packaging and advertising often make similar promises: one shade that adjusts to everyone’s complexion, smoother-looking skin, hydration, wrinkle coverage and a flawless finish that lasts all day. I can’t say that Rise Luxus and other brands are made in the same factory or contain identical formulas, but the similarities in how they’re marketed are hard to ignore. I’ve also tried and reviewed Smooch Colour Changing Foundation, which is built around the same idea of a foundation that adjusts to your skin tone. If you’re shopping for this type of makeup, I’d look beyond the colour-changing feature. A foundation can match your complexion beautifully and still be a disappointment if it feels uncomfortable, offers poor coverage or disappears after a few hours.
My Verdict: Would I Buy Rise Luxus Ultrablend 4-in-1 Foundation Again?
Honestly, no. The colour-changing technology was impressive, and I was happy with how well it matched my complexion during my first two attempts. But I need more from a foundation than a good shade match. Rise Luxus felt thick, sticky and greasy, provided very little coverage, transferred around my glasses and settled into my wrinkles. It also didn’t last anywhere near as long as advertised. I gave it three days and tried different application methods, but I never got the comfortable, flawless finish I was hoping for. I wouldn’t spend my money on another bottle, even with the promotional discounts. If you’re considering buying it, I’d think carefully about whether the colour-matching feature is worth overlooking its other shortcomings. For me, it simply wasn’t.
